The Milwaukee School of Engineering Master of Business Administration in Education Leadership Program gave me the opportunity to gain knowledge about both great business and educational leaders and their leadership practices while simultaneously giving me leadership experience and allowing me to put this newfound knowledge into practice.

My leadership Philosophy
"All children can learn and achieve if they are part of an engaging educational system where they can unlock the potential within. To help unlock this potential, I will foster culturally responsive instruction; instruction that is responsive to students rather than students responsive to the curriculum. Engaging students in this way connects their identity to the content and encourages teachers to be innovators and creators and not technicians. This is especially important in the current school model of collaboration and project-based learning. If students are not engaged or interested in learning, they will be less motivated to succeed.
As a leader, I will create a culture where staff feel valued; providing rich and relevant professional development opportunities, celebrating achievements and classroom “wins,” and being open and available to staff when they need me most. I will explain the rationale for my decisions, share information, and be transparent to those who rely on me. I will ensure staff, teachers, and students have the proper systems, policies, procedures, and practices in place. This will help them spend less time maneuvering through systems and more time on instruction and collaboration."
